The Inauguration of Tanquigan Elementary School BKD Officers for 2025-2026
Tanquigan Elementary School's newly elected Barkada Kontra Droga (BKD) officers for the School Year 2025-2026 held their oath-taking ceremony on March 3, 2025, at the school's covered court. The ceremony was led by their adviser, Mr. Rodel N. Etchon.
Since its inception, the Barkada Kontra Droga club has been actively involved in various initiatives. The officers and members have participated in numerous activities organized by the Department of Education's Schools Division Office - City of San Fernando, La Union, the school, and the community. Their efforts extend beyond participation; they've taken a proactive role in educating their peers and community members about the harmful effects of illegal drug use through short lectures and informative sessions. Furthermore, the club's activities demonstrate a commitment to holistic well-being, as evidenced by their participation in initiatives such as vegetable planting. This multifaceted approach reflects the BKD club's dedication to promoting a drug-free and healthy environment within the school and community. Their commitment to education and community involvement makes them a valuable asset to Tanquigan Elementary School.

The Barkada Kontra Droga (BKD) actively combats drug use through multifaceted initiatives. Their programs include informative classroom discussions on the detrimental effects of illegal drugs, highlighting both the health consequences and legal ramifications. Beyond education, the BKD fosters healthy alternatives by engaging students in maintaining the school garden, showcasing gardening as a positive and rewarding hobby that can help deter drug experimentation. This holistic approach combines education and positive engagement to promote a drug-free environment.
